Attend Fog City Ruby
Fog City Ruby usually meets on the second Tuesday of the month at an office in downtown San Francisco. We announce speaker lineups and manage RSVPs on Meetup, so sign up there to be notififed of our next event: http://www.meetup.com/fogcityruby
If you join us at a meetup, we'll ask you to write your pronouns on your name tag. Want to learn more about why we do this? Bryn Mawr College has a great writeup on why using someone's correct pronoun is important that you can read through.
Code of Conduct
Our code of conduct is really important to us! All attendees are required to read and follow it at Fog City Ruby events. If you are harassed or notice someone being harassed, please talk to an organizer as soon as possible; Fog City Ruby's organizers are identified during the opening announcements at the beginning of every event.
Here's the complete code of conduct:
Fog City Ruby is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of meetup participants in any form. Meetup participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the meetup without a refund at the discretion of the meetup organizers.
- verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination (related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion);
- sexual images in public spaces;
- deliberate intimidation;
- harassing photography or recording;
- sustained disruption of talks or other events;
- inappropriate physical contact; and
- unwelcome sexual attention.
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
Sponsors are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, sponsors should not use sexualised images, activities, or other material.
If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the meetup organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the meetup with no refund. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact an organizer immediately. To report harassment via email, you can email the organizers at firstname.lastname@example.org.
